Kung Fu (also pronounced as Gung Fu) has been an important part of the culture, identity and wellbeing of millions of Chinese people for thousands of years. "Kung Fu" refers colloquially to any individual accomplishment or skill cultivated through long and hard work (Wikipedia). Our particular lineage of Kung Fu, Wing Chun, was devised by a Buddhist Nun named Ng Mui (who, incidentally, was one of the five top Masters that escaped the destruction of the Shaolin Temple in the late 1600s). Wing Chun is both a hard and soft Kung Fu with a focus on no-nonsense techniques as well as the soft internal aspects more commonly associated with Tai Chi & Chi Gung. We will teach you a thoughtful and logical approach to this art, based on basic principles that will increase retention and application of your new skills. The health benefits of regular exercise are well known. Kung Fu is just as applicable for life in the digital and fast food age as it was for those living in ancient China. Wing Chun Kung Fu, through diligence and practice, will improve your social, emotional and physical wellbeing.
